Introductory Experience - Discover SCUBA Diving
A quick and easy introduction that allows you to explore the underwater world before committing to the scuba certification course. This 'try' dive let's you try SCUBA diving with one of our highly trained instructors right off the shore in front of the resort.

Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you are not quite ready for the certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. We offer this program in the resort pool first, followed by a shallow guided dive on the house reef. You must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. You will learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

Discover SCUBA Diving courses are available most afternoons. Sunset House & Sunset Divers is an amazing location to discover what the underwater world is all about. Enjoy a leisurely dive on the house reef after your pool session where you can enjoy seeing the wide variety of marine life the Cayman Islands have to offer.

PADI Open Water Course
You can get started immediately with the knowledge development portion of the course and work at your own pace using the PADI eLearning system. This convenient, interactive study option allows you to learn anytime and anywhere.​

The in-water training portion of the course is conducted over 2 full days, this is where you complete the 5 confined sessions and 4 open water dives. The cost for the 2 days is $450.00 (discount for in house guests). Equipment rental is included during your open water course.

Already completed your academics and pool skills with your local dive shop? We also offer Open Water Referral courses. Complete the final part of the Open Water Course with one of our Instructors in beautiful Caribbean conditions. Our Instructors will complete the 4 open water dives, required to finish your open water course from shore right in front of the Resort.
This course is scheduled over 2 half days. Sunset Divers is able to offer PADI, SSI and Universal Referrals. The cost is $400 (discount for in house guests). Equipment rental is included during your open water course.

For visiting dive instructors who wish to train students at Sunset House (whether its referral dives or continuing education.) It’s important to know our policy. All instructors must be in “active” teaching status and we require a copy of professional diving liability insurance with Sunset House / Sunset Divers named on the additionally insured section. Without this training cannot be conducted unless it is by a Sunset Diver's instructor.
