PADI Advanced Water Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water course helps you increase your confidence and scuba skills so you can be more comfortable in the water. The academic portion of this course can be completed at your own pace using the PADI eLearning system

The in-water training portion of this course is made up of 5 adventure dives. The cost of this course depends if you wish to do all dives from shore, or include a 2-tank boat trip. Mandatory dives towards certification are Deep and Navigation. Options for the other 3 dives include: Peak Performance Buoyancy, Fish ID, Naturalist, Search & Recovery, Wreck, or Night. 5 shore dives cost $450. Or you can choose a boat option (space pending), which includes the same specialties plus Boat for a cost of $600. (Discounts available for in house guests).​

PADI Rescue Course

The PADI Rescue course teaches how to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver. It's challenging, yet very rewarding.  The academic portion of this course can be completed at your own pace using the PADI eLearning system

You will learn to become a better buddy by taking part in problem solving skills and scenarios until they become second nature. It is a serious course, but it is challenging, rewarding & most importantly fun!   

 

The in-water training portion of this course is made up of 10 rescue skills & 2 open water scenarios.  The cost of this course is $460. (Discounts available for in house guests).

A pre-requisite of the Rescue Course is a current (within 2 years) First Aid Course with CPR. At Sunset Divers we also offer the Emergency First Response course for an additional cost.  Please allow an extra day if this course is also required. â€‹â€‹

PADI Divemaster course, become a dive professional

PADI Divemaster

Sunset Divers is excited to offer the opportunity of a Divemaster Internship to enthusiastic, fit, hardworking divers over the age of 18 who want to gain experience in the dive industry and earn their first level of professional dive certification: PADI Divemaster.  The minimum requirement to begin the Divemaster Internship is the PADI Rescue Diver Certification, First Aid Certificate with CPR within the last 2 years, a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months and at least 40 logged dives.

You are also required to complete the Divemaster & Dive Theory eLearning courses online through the PADI website.  During the eLearning you will complete eight knowledge development sections using a web-based program that allows you to learn at your own pace. You will also have access to an online version of the Divemaster manual for reference during and after the course.  The cost of the Divemaster  and Dive Theory eLearning is paid direct to PADI upon registration.

We recommend a minimum of one month to a maximum of 3 months to complete the internship.  The longer you stay, the more extensive your work experience will be and the more skills you will gain. You will be expected to treat the internship as you would a real job and be available to work 7:00am to 5:00pm daily, with days off randomly assigned.  Additional costs will be the purchase of the Divemaster Crew Pack and your application fees to PADI.  The cost of the Internship is $1,200.  For further Internship details in regards to accommodation, immigration and staying on island for an extended period of time, please email direct.

For visiting dive instructors who wish to train students at Sunset House (whether its referral dives or continuing education.) It’s important to know our policy. All instructors must be in “active” teaching status and we require a copy of professional diving liability insurance with Sunset House / Sunset Divers named on the additionally insured section. Without this training cannot be conducted unless it is by a Sunset Divers Instructor.
